CEREC, which stands for Chair-side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, produces porcelain ceramic inlay material quickly. It is so fast that a restoration can be completed in one dental appointment instead of the weeks and series of dental appointments taken in the past. It combines the latest computer technology with dental truths to give strength, stability, and beauty to the tooth. Teeth with the CEREC crowns are less sensitive and 10% stronger than natural teeth. In addition no impressions are taken, less time is needed, and no temporary crowns are used.

At a typical appointment the affected tooth is first prepared for treatment; then a 3D scan is taken of the area and viewed by Dr. Peterson with the patient. After that the ceramic restoration is designed to fit onto the tooth. Next, the CEREC machine quickly and efficiently mills the ceramic tooth restoration.

The restoration is then polished or glazed by Dr. Peterson to look and feel like a natural tooth. Dr. Peterson next adheres the restoration to the tooth in a seamless fit. The CEREC machine will make your dental visits more economical and enjoyable.
