| The TENS unit Dr. Peterson uses for his neuromuscular dentistry techniques is made by Myotronics.
The J5 Myomonitor, like its predecessor the J4, delivers controlled, periodic, bilateral electrical stimulation to help provide muscle relaxation, increase blood circulation, and increase range of motion.
Myotronics’ products have enjoyed over thirty-five years of clinical effectiveness and their J5 Myomonitor does nothing to tarnish that record. The J5 is a valuable tool in Dr. Peterson’s procedures for occlusal adjustment and bite registration, and also useful in the treatment of some types of TMJ dysfunction and associated pain.
It's known that cervical muscles affect head posture and consequently may impact occlusion. For years many dentists have stimulated these cervical muscles to relax them as part of the overall diagnosis and treatment process. The J5 Myomonitor provides four patient stimulation channels, each left and right pair with its own controls. Now, with the ability to stimulate four muscle sites simultaneously, the J5 helps improve treatment efficacy while saving time for Dr. Peterson and the patient. It also incorporates unique, fail-safe circuitry.
